Description
OESD PolyMesh Fusible is the soft, lightweight PolyMesh cut-away with adhesive on one side. Iron it to the wrong side of the fabric before hooping and the fabric cannot stretch or creep while you stitch. It is made for knits and lightweight wovens where you want the finished piece to stay soft, and it is strong enough to hold embroidery stitches through washing and wearing. Sweater knits are where it shines.
The 15" x 10 yard roll covers every hoop up to 8" x 12". If you only run 4" x 4" and 5" x 7" hoops, the 10" roll is the smaller buy. After stitching, trim the excess with scissors; the rest stays in the garment. For fabrics that cannot take an iron, use the sew-in PolyMesh White.

Cuts are the hoop size plus about 2" each way, laid along the 10-yard length at the 15" width and turned where that fits more. Counts are approximate and assume no waste.
Compare and choose
- Which side of PolyMesh Fusible is the fusible side?
- The side with the adhesive feels slightly rough or shiny compared with the soft side. Place that side against the wrong side of the fabric, press with a press cloth, and let it cool before hooping. Test on a scrap of heat-sensitive knit first.
- Fusible or sew-in PolyMesh: which do I need?
- Choose fusible when the fabric stretches or shifts in the hoop, as sweater knits and light jersey do. Choose sew-in PolyMesh for fabrics you do not want to iron, such as some performance knits, and when you need black. PolyMesh White sew-in 15" roll
- Is this a cut-away or a tear-away?
- Cut-away. It stays in the garment and is trimmed with scissors about 1/4" from the design. That is what keeps designs on knits from distorting after washing and wearing.
- Can I use it on fabrics that cannot be ironed?
- No. Fusing needs heat. For heat-sensitive fabrics, use a sew-in cut-away such as PolyMesh White or Pellon 380 Soft-N-Stay. Pellon 380 Soft-N-Stay 20" bolt
- How does it compare to Pellon 333 Ultra Weave?
