Description
Kimberbell Fusible Backing is a lightweight, non-woven stabilizer that irons onto the back of light to medium fabrics. It adds body, helps prevent puckering, and keeps dark fabrics or seams from showing through. Kimberbell pairs it with its Tear-Away, Cut-Away and Wash-Away stabilizers rather than using it alone.
To use it, cut a piece slightly smaller than the fabric and press with a hot iron for 20 seconds to adhere it to the back. The 20" x 5 yard roll is the width for 8" x 12" and larger hoops and for cutting smaller pieces two across. For small hoops only, the 12" roll is the smaller buy.

Cuts are the hoop size plus about 2" each way, laid along the 5-yard length at the 20" width and turned where that fits more. Counts are approximate and assume no waste.

- All three iron onto the fabric. PolyMesh Fusible is a soft cut-away mesh that stays in knits and lightweight wovens; OESD Fusible Woven is a lightweight woven with all-over fusible for large or multi-hooped designs. - Will it stop dark fabric from showing through light fabric?
- It helps. Kimberbell lists preventing show-through among its uses, so fuse it to the back of a light top fabric before hooping.
- How do I fuse it without bubbles?
- Cut it a little smaller than the fabric so no adhesive reaches the iron. Press, do not slide, for about 20 seconds per area, overlapping as you go, and let it cool before hooping.
