Both are needle-punched cotton/poly blends. Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 has no scrim, a soft drape, 1/8"+ loft and a 4" quilting distance. Warm 80/20 comes on a 110" bolt, 10" narrower than this roll, so for a true king in one piece the Hobbs 120" is the one that fits.

Do I need to pre-wash it?

No. Hobbs does not recommend pre-washing. Expect 3-5% shrinkage on the first wash of the finished quilt.

Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 cut from the 120" roll in whole yards. Order one unit for each yard: add 4 to your cart and you get 4 yards of 120" wide batting. The 120" width is the king-size width; it covers a king top (up to 120" wide) in one piece with no seam, and it is also the right call for wide backs and oversized queens that a 96" width cannot clear.

The batting is Heirloom Premium 80/20: 80% natural cotton and 20% fine polyester, needle-punched with a light resin bonding for strength and durability. Close quilting gives a flat, low-loft antique look; wider spacing lets the loft rise slightly. It quilts well by hand or machine. Because the cotton is unbleached, Hobbs recommends it with medium or dark fabrics; under white and pastel tops it can slightly darken the color.
