Description
Pellon P44F is Pellon's lightweight one-sided fusible interfacing on a 20" x 48-yard bolt, the format for people who use lightweight fusible by the project rather than by the package: garment sewists, classrooms, t-shirt quilt makers and small studios. It is made for light to medium-weight fabrics, wovens and knits, blouses and sheer garments, and it is especially good with crepe de chine, voile and handkerchief linen.
It is a soft non-woven, so it adds support you cannot see or feel rather than crispness. Quilters use it to stabilize blocks and knit panels before piecing. The same interfacing comes as a 15" x 3-yard package if you only need a little; for fabrics that cannot take an iron, buy the P45 sew-in bolt.

Compare and choose
- P44F vs 911FF Featherweight: what is the difference?
- Both are lightweight non-woven polyester fusibles from Pellon. 911FF is the featherweight grade, the lightest Pellon makes, for sheers and anywhere the interfacing must disappear. P44F is the standard lightweight grade with a touch more body. If your fabric is very sheer, choose 911FF; for everyday blouses, shirts and quilt blocks, P44F. Pellon 911FF Featherweight 20" x 10 yd
- P44F fusible vs P45 sew-in?
- Same weight, different application. P44F irons on, which is faster and keeps layers from shifting. P45 is sewn in and is recommended for delicate fabrics that are sensitive to heat and moisture, and for textured fabrics where fusing could show. Most people buy P44F unless the fabric says otherwise. Pellon P45 Lightweight Sew-In 20" x 48 yd
- P44F vs SF101 Shape-Flex?
- SF101 is a woven cotton fusible with a crisp, firm hand for collars, cuffs and bags. P44F is a soft non-woven for light fabrics. Choose SF101 when you want structure you can feel and P44F when you want quiet support that leaves the fabric soft. Pellon SF101 Shape-Flex 20" x 10 yd
- Is a 48-yard bolt the right buy for me?
- If you sew garments regularly, teach, or make t-shirt quilts, yes: 48 yards at 20" wide covers dozens of shirts or several t-shirt quilts and is far cheaper per yard than packages. For occasional use, the 15" x 3-yard package of the same lightweight fusible is enough. Pellon Fusible Interfacing 15" x 3 yd package
- Can I use P44F for t-shirt quilts?
- Yes. Fuse it to the back of each shirt before cutting so the knit does not stretch while you square up and piece the blocks. A lightweight fusible like P44F keeps the blocks soft; a heavier interfacing makes a stiff quilt.
- Which side is the fusible side?
- The side with the slightly rough adhesive dots. Put the dotted side against the wrong side of your fabric, cover with a press cloth and press down firmly for several seconds, lifting and moving the iron rather than sliding it. Let it cool before handling.
