Description

Single Sided Light Fusible Batting is a 4.7oz, low-loft polyester batting with fusible adhesive on one side, cut 45" x 36" for small projects that need a slightly padded look. Press it to the wrong side of your fabric and it stays put, so there is no pinning or basting.

Polyester keeps it lightweight while adding structure and stability. We see it used in mini quilts, placemats, garments, handbags, soft sculptures and accessories.

Compare and choose

Fusible batting vs fusible fleece: which should I use?
Both are single-sided polyester fusibles with low loft. This 4.7oz batting is sold as a 45" x 36" piece for small quilted projects; the 4oz fusible fleece comes 45" x 72" and is the usual choice for bags and structured crafts. For a firmer bag, look at a foam stabilizer instead. Single Sided Light Fusible Fleece 45" x 72"
Single-sided or double-sided fusible?
Single-sided fuses to one fabric layer, the usual choice for bag panels and quilt tops. Double-sided fusible, such as Duet Fuse II, bonds fabric on both faces and suits no-sew projects and jelly-roll rugs. Duet Fuse II 2-1/4" x 20 yd
Can I fuse a full-size quilt with this?
At 45" x 36" it is sized for small projects. For a bed quilt, use a fusible batting package in the size you need, such as Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 Fusible. Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 Fusible packages
Can I use it in a hot pad or microwave bowl cozy?
No. Polyester and fusible battings are not microwave-safe and are not heat barriers. Use 100% cotton with no scrim for microwave projects, and an insulated batting such as Insul-Bright for hot pads. Insul-Bright 45" x 1 yd
How do I fuse it?
Place the adhesive side against the wrong side of the fabric and press with an iron, following the instructions on the package. Let it cool before moving so the bond sets. Test on a scrap first.
