Description
Ultra Clean and Tear Plus is a medium weight OESD stabilizer that both tears away and washes away, with a water-soluble adhesive coating on one side. Hoop the stabilizer alone, activate the adhesive, and stick down items that are hard to hoop: collars, napkin corners, towels. It suits tightly woven and slippery fabrics that do not stretch, and projects that need several hoopings.
It removes easily without distorting even delicate stitches: tear the excess away and rinse out what remains. The 10" x 10 yard roll covers hoops up to about 6" x 10".

Compare and choose
- How do I use a water-activated adhesive stabilizer?
- Hoop the stabilizer by itself with the coated side up, moisten the coating lightly with a damp sponge or brush, and press the item in place. Let it set before stitching. Do not soak it; you only want the surface tacky.
- Ultra Clean and Tear Plus vs StabilStick TearAway: which do I need?
- Both are medium weight tear-aways for hard-to-hoop items. StabilStick has a light adhesive coating, while Ultra Clean and Tear Plus uses a water-soluble adhesive, so anything left behind rinses away. Choose Plus when the item will be washed and you want no adhesive left. StabilStick TearAway 10" x 10 yd
- Can I use it on knits or stretchy fabric?
- No. It is made for tightly woven and slippery fabrics that do not stretch. For knits, use a cut-away mesh that stays in the project. PolyMesh 10" x 10 yd
- How do I remove it?
- Tear the excess away from the design, then rinse the item to dissolve the remaining adhesive and stabilizer. It comes out without distorting delicate stitches.
- Tear-away, cut-away or wash-away: which stabilizer do I need?
- Tear-away is for stable woven fabrics where no backing should stay behind: it supports the stitching, then tears off. Cut-away stays in the project permanently and is the right choice for knits, sweatshirts and anything that stretches, because the stitches need support through every wash. Wash-away dissolves in water and is for freestanding lace, sheers and projects where no trace of stabilizer can remain. See a cut-away option
