Description

Warm 100 is the all-cotton version of Warm & Natural: 100% natural cotton fibers needle-punched into a 100% cotton scrim, so there is no polyester anywhere in the batting. The cotton is mechanically cleaned to remove seeds and plant matter, and nothing is held together with resins or glues, so there is no chemical smell and the batting stays soft, breathable and flat. This 110" x 25-yard bolt is the wide-format roll for longarm studios and shops.

At 110" it covers queen tops in either direction with margin and handles oversized queens and smaller kings; a true 120" king needs a wider roll. The stable needle-punched construction suits longarm and machine quilting, and hand quilters like how it needles. Quilt or tie up to 10" apart, no pre-washing needed, and expect about 3% shrinkage in the first wash for a soft, traditional crinkle. Made in the USA.

The same batting comes in pre-cut packages from twin to king and in full cases. For a white version of The Warm Company's cotton, see Warm & White.

Compare and choose

Warm 100 vs Warm & Natural: what is the difference?
Both are needle-punched cotton battings from The Warm Company that can be quilted up to 10" apart and shrink about 3%. The difference is the scrim. Warm & Natural punches cotton through a thin polyester scrim; Warm 100 punches cotton into a 100% cotton scrim, so fiber and scrim are both cotton. Choose Warm 100 if you want an all-cotton batting with no synthetic layer; choose Warm & Natural for the familiar standard at a lower price per yard. Warm & Natural 90" x 40 yd bolt
Will 110" cover a king quilt?
It covers queens with room to spare and kings up to about 106" wide, but not a full 120" x 120" king in one piece. For a true king on the longarm you need a 120" or 124" roll; in cotton that is Warm & Natural 124" or Hobbs Heirloom Cotton with Scrim 120". Warm & Natural 124" x 30 yd bolt
Warm 100 vs Hobbs Heirloom 100% Cotton with Scrim?
Both are 100% cotton with a scrim, low loft, and quilt-anywhere-friendly. Hobbs Heirloom Cotton with Scrim is lightly resin-bonded and should be quilted within about 4"; Warm 100 has no resins or glues, uses a cotton scrim rather than a synthetic one, and can be quilted or tied up to 10" apart. Hobbs is a touch softer; Warm 100 is the firmer, flatter, all-cotton choice. Hobbs Heirloom Cotton with Scrim 120" roll
Does Warm 100 shrink, and should I pre-wash it?
No pre-washing needed; quilt it straight from the package or bolt. Expect about 3% shrinkage in the first wash, which gives a subtle, traditional crinkle. If you prefer no crinkle, pre-wash by hand: mild detergent, soak about 20 minutes, rinse, squeeze without wringing, and dry warm or flat. Wash the finished quilt in cold water to keep shrinkage down.
How far apart can I quilt Warm 100?
Up to 10" between quilting lines or ties. The cotton scrim holds the fibers so you can run open pantographs, tie comforters or do minimal modern quilting without the batting shifting or bunching.
Is Warm 100 microwave safe for bowl cozies?
Use Pellon Wrap-N-Zap for anything that goes in a microwave; it is the only batting we sell for that purpose. Warm 100 is all cotton, but it is a quilt batting, not a product The Warm Company sells for microwave use, so we do not recommend it for bowl cozies. Pellon Wrap-N-Zap 90" x 9 yd roll
Natural cotton under a white quilt: will it show through?
Unbleached cotton has small natural flecks that can shadow through white or very pale fabric. Under white and pastel tops, use a bleached cotton such as Warm & White; under most prints and medium colors, Warm 100 is fine. Warm & White 90" x 40 yd bolt
Do you ship batting rolls to Alaska or Hawaii?
No. Rolls and boards ship only to the 48 contiguous states; orders from Alaska, Hawaii or outside the US are cancelled and refunded. Pre-cut packages ship to all locations. Shop packaged batting
