You need 120". Pick a batting at least 4" wider than the shorter side of your top. A king top runs 108" to 120" wide, so a 96" or 108" roll leaves you seaming two pieces together. The 120" roll covers it in one piece. If you only quilt through queen size, the 96" roll is the better buy.

How many king quilts will the roll make?

About nine. A king cut is 120" x 120", and 30 yards is 1,080" of length, so nine cuts with a little left over. If you mix sizes, figure about twelve queen cuts (108" across, 90" along the roll) or fifteen twin cuts.

Warm & Natural is 100% cotton with a scrim: flatter, firmer and quiltable up to 10" apart. Hobbs 80/20 is softer, drapes better and should be quilted within 4". For a traditional bed quilt with a soft hand, Hobbs; for maximum flatness or very open quilting, Warm & Natural.
